This area will become a bit more informative as time goes by, but here are some basic ideas. Please feel free to send comments to AyunSpace@hotmail.com.

The goal is to create a game that can be played on any terms in any manner you can imagine. A few points I think will lead to this:

1) Remove all distinction between planets and ships. There will simply be bodies in space there for taking to be used any way you see fit, and of course constructing them is still available.

2) Moving away from the idea of technology tree and components.

   a) Technologies are researched at the broadest level to increase      base skill in that area.

   b) At more specific areas of research you get not components      statically limited in function but capabilities.

3) No artificial rules dictating requirements or restrictions.

4) Simplified yet powerful designing.

   a) Capabilities allow for defining what youd like something to do instead of what individual pieces are required to do it.

   b) Not limited to designs. One ship/planet need another additional capability? Simply add it.

   c) Capabilities can be assessed at a glance. No pouring over item descriptions to discover what your enemy is capable of.

5) The same physics apply to all bodies.
